Girls’ volleyball falls to FSHA in final home game

The girls’ volleyball team’s loss tonight against Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in its final home game increased the team’s league record to 2-6 and its overall record to 8-15.  The Wolverines lost to the Tologs in three sets.

Harvard-Westlake lost the first set 19-25, after struggling to produce a lead the entire set.

While FSHA had the upper hand in the first game, both teams’ scores stayed relatively equal throughout the entire second set. During the middle of the second game, Rachel Savage ’15 hurt her ankle temporarily, but after a quick examination from one of the trainers, she removed to play without missing a play.  The Wolverines would end up with two separate four-point leads, but both times the Tologs would quickly score their missing points and then go on to take the lead.  The Tologs took the second game 26-24.

Savage was able to bounce back and score multiple points in the match after her short injury.  However, the Wolverines lost their third game 16-25 and the match itself 0-3.  FSHA had the lead for the entire game.

The Wolverines’ next game is tomorrow as part of the RUHS Tournament at West Torrance High School.
