Girls’ Golf loses to Marlborough, defeats Flintridge Sacred Heart

Karina Guo ’18 rejoins the Harvard-Westlake girls’ golf team from injury just before the beginning of the CIF playoffs. The team played two matches on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 against Marlborough and Flintridge Sacred Heart.

The team lost by 3 strokes against Marlborough at Wilson-Harding Golf Course, where they only played a 6-hole match due to rain conditions. In this match, Claire Dennis ’18 and Karina Guo ’18 both shot 27. The team shot a total of 136.

The team also played today at Chevy Chase Golf Course, collectively shooting 219 to win the match, despite not having Carolyn Hong ’17 and Captain Lauren Song ’16. In this match, Josie Baker ’18 had three birdies and shot 47, and Guo shot 48.

The team’s next match is against Louisville High School on Oct. 13 at Encino Golf Course at 3:00 p.m. This will be the last match before the start of the postseason.
